Valley Oak is a small company based in Edale, in the heart
of the Peak District National Park, Derbyshire.
Our mission is to produce furniture to grace gardens
of all sizes and styles, however our products are also
suitable for indoor use, for example conservatories
and dining rooms.
Certainly, you are unlikely to find anything quite like
our ranges elsewhere, handmade, robust, rustic.

Our staff are

Oak furniture. Each piece is lovingly hand crafted and
finished.
Each piece of furniture is unique, individual.
This is due to the nature of the material.
Oak is full of different features, for example swirls,
knots and twists, these combine to give the furniture
its own character - no two pieces are alike. For example
in the construction of table tops, wherever possible
these are “butterflied” to mirror carefully
selected features for maximum effect.

Valley Oak sources
timber from a wide area. We are called to fell some, generally
when unsafe. Other trees herald from storm damage, railway
line clearance, from managed forests etc.. Valley
Oak can boast that this exquisite furniture is not built
from specially harvested timber.
So controlled are the origins of the timber used in the
manufacture of all Valley Oak products, we can actually
offer provenance of each of the elements of a piece of
furniture. A table top may be from a tree in Sheffield,
the ends of the table, from one in Cheshire. Sometimes
we can even tell you exactly where it once stood.
