
Example of "Butterflying" |
These are substantial
pieces, very heavy, with all timber sections, except the
feet, being of 60mm section (after finishing). All stand
30” (762mm) tall. They can be produced in a variety
of lengths and widths, most regularly requested at 6 foot
in length (1.83 metres)
The table tops are butterflied. This means that all the
features on one side of the table are exactly reproduced
on the other. On any part of the table including the tops,
you may be lucky enough to get “flecks”, these
being technically referred to as Medullary Rays, a form
of food storage cell, more regularly found in quarter
sawn timber – cabinet makers would die for these!
